Heavy Duty is an iPhone app for making invoices and estimates. It has no account and no server of ours. This page says what is kept on your phone, what leaves it, and who gets it.

Last updated 22 July 2026Applies to the Heavy Duty iOS app and getheavyduty.com

The short version

  • Your booksInvoices, estimates, clients, catalog items, payments and company details are stored on your device only. We never receive them.
  • No accountThere is nothing to sign up for and nothing to log into, so we hold no name, email address or password for you.
  • Two SDKsAdapty handles your purchase status. Sentry receives crash reports. Neither gets invoice or client data.
  • PaymentsApple processes any purchase. We never see your card details.
  • Your callExport everything or delete everything from inside the app, at any time.

1. What this policy covers

This policy covers the Heavy Duty app for iPhone and this website, getheavyduty.com. It is written by the team behind Fax It. It explains what the app does with the information you put into it, and the few things that are sent to a service outside your phone.

If a word here is not clear, write to us and ask. The address is support@getheavyduty.com.

2. What stays on your device

The app stores your work on the iPhone itself. That includes:

  • invoices and estimates, with their line items, discounts, markup, shipping and taxes;
  • clients, with their email addresses, phone numbers, tags, billing and shipping addresses, and any notes you write;
  • your catalog of items, materials and services, with units, prices, tax and product codes;
  • payments you record, including partial ones;
  • your company details, logo, payment details, numbering, terms and conditions, and template settings;
  • your reports, which are worked out on the phone from the documents already there.

None of that reaches us. There is no account and no server of ours behind the app, so there is nowhere for it to go. We cannot read your invoices, we cannot see your client list, and we cannot tell you what you billed last month, because we do not have it.

The PDF is rendered on the phone as well. Making a document, changing its template and running the reports all work with the network switched off.

3. Device backups

If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, your app data can be included in that backup, the same as with other apps on the device. That backup is made by Apple's software and held under your own Apple Account. It is governed by Apple's terms and Apple's privacy policy, not by us. We have no access to it.

You control this in the iOS Settings app, under your Apple Account, in the iCloud backup settings.

4. The two services the app talks to

The app includes two third-party SDKs. These are the only outside services it sends anything to, and we want to be plain about both.

Adapty — purchases and subscription state

Adapty runs the paid upgrade: it works out whether your copy of the app is on the free version or the paid one, and it restores that state if you reinstall the app or set up a new phone.

Receives
Purchase and subscription events, and an anonymous installation identifier that lets it match a purchase back to your install.
Never gets
Your invoices, estimates, clients, catalog, payments or company details. It has no access to that data.

Sentry — crash and error reports

When the app crashes or hits an error, Sentry sends us a diagnostic report so the bug can be found and fixed. This is how a small team keeps the app stable without asking you to describe what went wrong.

Receives
The device model, the iOS version, and a stack trace showing where in the code the app failed.
Never gets
Your invoices, estimates, clients, catalog, payments or company details. Crash reports carry the state of the code, not the contents of your documents.

Neither service receives your business data. Both are used for the narrow job described above. Each runs under its own privacy policy as the provider of that service.

5. Purchases

The app is free to start and has an optional paid upgrade. Any purchase is made through Apple's in-app purchase system and processed by Apple. Your card number and billing details go to Apple, never to us. We do not see them and we do not store them.

What we learn from a purchase, through Adapty, is that an install now has the paid version. Questions about a charge, a refund or a subscription itself are handled by Apple through your Apple Account.

6. Sending a document to a client

When you send an invoice, the app hands the PDF to whichever app you pick: Mail, WhatsApp, Messages, or anything else in the iOS share sheet. You can also print it.

At that moment the document leaves your phone by the route you chose, and it is handled by that app and that provider under their own terms. It still does not pass through us. If you print or use AirDrop, nothing goes over the internet at all.

7. Getting your data out, or deleting it

Because everything is on your device, you are the one holding it, and the app gives you the controls.

  • Export it. You can export a full JSON backup of everything, or a CSV you can import into QuickBooks. Keep your own copy wherever you like.
  • Delete it. You can delete your data from inside the app at any time. Deleted documents, clients and items are removed from the device.
  • Remove the app. Deleting Heavy Duty from your iPhone removes the app's data with it. If you want to keep a copy, export it first, because we hold no copy to restore for you.

You are welcome to email us to ask about your data or to ask for it to be deleted. In almost every case the honest answer will be that we do not hold it and the controls above are the fastest route, but we will tell you plainly what is and is not on our side and help you do it.

8. This website

getheavyduty.com is a set of plain, static pages. There is no sign-up form, no comment box and no tracking script written into these pages. The only information you send us from here is an email you choose to write to the support address.

9. Children

Heavy Duty is a business tool. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has sent us something, write to support@getheavyduty.com and we will deal with it.

10. Changes to this policy

If the app changes in a way that affects this policy, for example if a service is added or removed, we update this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. The current version always lives at getheavyduty.com/privacy.

If a change is a significant one, such as a new third party receiving something, we will also say so in the app release notes for the version that makes the change, so you can see it before you update.

11. Contact

Privacy questions, requests and complaints go to support@getheavyduty.com. A real person reads that address. Tell us your iOS version and what you were doing when something went wrong, and we can usually answer in one reply.

Your books stay on your phone.

No sign-up, no cloud, no connection needed. Add your business details once and send the first invoice.

Free to start, with an optional paid upgrade. iPhone, iOS 26.
